Basic Air Conditioning Training Course
(Service)

This course commences with the fundamentals of refrigeration and air conditioning theory and covers major component parts and controls including their operation and replacement, diagnostics, basic electrics, charging with refrigerant, the recovery of refrigerant and leak testing.

Candidates need not have any formal qualifications to attend this course since we start everyone from the absolute beginning, irrespective of their previous experience. However, basic mechanical skills and a knowledge of how electricity works is a prerequisite.

On completion of the course, candidates will understand the operation of a simple system and be able to carry out diagnostic and repair work. Please note that breaking into any system should only be carried out after completion of the CITB Safe Handling of Refrigerants or the City & Guilds 2078 - Safe Handling of Refrigerants Assessment. It is also a strong requirement that candidates know the correct procedures of how to correctly braze pipe work. The CITB Pipework And Brazing Course or the BRA Flame Brazing Assessment will show you how and are highly recommended.

This course is available as a 3 day, 4 day or 5 day module and is tailored according to experience and /or requirement.
