About Us

Launched in September 2001, Elite Specialist Training Ltd is now one of the leading specialised refrigeration and air conditioning training providers in the UK. With many colleges running down their specialist training courses to an absolute minimum, it is left to independent trainers like Elite to fill the gap. Training centres are located few and far between across the British Isles, which means that anyone wishing to attend a refrigeration or air conditioning course will generally have to stay away from home and their place of work. This will undoubtedly involve high overhead costs for travel, accommodation and subsistence.

The emphasis of Elite’s operation is to make it as easy and as economical as possible for the client / delegates. Much of our training is carried out on the customer’s premises or at a suitable nearby site, using high quality visual and full hands-on portable equipment. However, this tends to suit Companies who have a number of delegates to teach. For this reason, we have obtained permission from Valera Refrigeration Ltd to use their training facilities at their offices in Tarleton. For those people who require accommodation whilst attending any of our scheduled courses, the surrounding area provides many good quality hotels and boarding houses to suit everyone’s pocket.

We are even prepared to travel abroad.

Full basic training is given with either a
refrigeration or an air conditioning bias, followed by “hands on” diagnostics on real and fully operational systems. Refrigerant charging, recovery and decanting will be fully explained and practiced as will basic component part replacement. Installation procedures are also discussed.

If required, at the end of this training session delegates can continue with either the CITB Safe Handling Of Refrigerants Certification Course or the City and Guilds 2078 - Safe Handling Of Refrigerants Assessment.

CITB Pipework And Brazing Assessments
or Brazing Assessments to The British Refrigeration Association Specification may also be considered. Prospective clients should understand that refrigeration brazing techniques are totally different to any other types of brazing. Cleanliness is essential and a dirty system will ultimately give problems. Inert gases should always be used during the brazing process. In addition, the recently issued BS EN378 (formerly BS4434) covers the safety pressure testing, leak testing and evacuation of systems which have been newly installed or broken into for repair. We can show you the correct way to braze and to test the system and ultimately avoid those problems.
