Basic RAC training courses

On completion of the service courses, candidates will understand the operation of a simple system and be able to carry out diagnostic and repair work. Please note that breaking into any system should only be carried out after completion of the CITB Safe Handling of Refrigerants or the City & Guilds 2078 - Safe Handling of Refrigerants Assessment. It is also a strong requirement that candidates know the correct procedures of how to correctly braze pipe work. The CITB Pipework And Brazing Course or the BRA Flame Brazing Assessment will show you how and are highly recommended.

Basic Refrigeration Training Course (Service)

This course commences with the fundamentals of refrigeration theory and covers major component parts and controls including their operation and replacement, diagnostics, basic electrics, charging with refrigerant, the recovery of refrigerant and leak testing. This course is available as a 3 day, 4 day or 5 day module and is tailored according to experience and /or requirement.

Basic Air Conditioning Training Course (Service)

This course commences with the fundamentals of refrigeration and air conditioning theory and covers major component parts and controls including their operation and replacement, diagnostics, basic electrics, charging with refrigerant, the recovery of refrigerant and leak testing. This course is available as a 3 day, 4 day or 5 day module and is tailored according to experience and /or requirement.

Basic Refrigeration Training Course (Installation)

On completion of the course, candidates will understand how to install and commission a basic refrigeration system. Covered in depth are pipe working practices such as bending, flaring and swaging followed by an actual installation together with pressure testing, leak testing, evacuation, charging and commissioning the system.

The delegate must first have completed the Basic Refrigeration Training Course (Service) or to have that knowledge and experience.   • Comprehensive course notes are provided after all Service or Installation courses
  • Candidates need not have any formal qualifications to attend Service courses since we start everyone from the absolute beginning, however, basic mechanical skills and knowledge of how electricity works is a prerequisite.
  • Installation courses are suitable for experienced apprentices, refrigeration and air conditioning engineers and technicians.
